I have well and truely thrown myself back into my knitting this week. I have finished one of Dan’s Jaywalker socks, its pictured with the best non-knitting knitting tool I have ever purchased, a wooden ball that is GREAT for seeing what I am doing when grafting toes ect. The other half of his pair of socks is probably a while away, I tend to knit one sock at a time in-between larger projects as otherwise I go out of my mind.
Yesterday while going through my less than large stash I found my first ever attempt at dyeing using food dye, I never could work out what to do with this yarn as the colours are too short and and very overpowering so it’s become my first hand knitted soaker, all I need now is some lanolin for it…oh and an itty bitty bottom to test it of course! I have pulled out all my 8ply scraps and plan to make soakers to use it all up as most of it is not enough for anything by itself. I should really pull my finger out and make some nappies as well but that would involve fighting my way into my sewing room (gulp)
Over the weekend I am going to a knit and knatter at the home of a friend from knitters guild and as it’s also a birthday I have made a set of stitch markers to give. I think they are gorgeous even if I do say so myself!

I love the soaker – the colours came out beautifully! The jaywalker sock was on my shortlist until I chose the monkey ones – looks great in two colours. I like the funky stitch markers too, they look like they would make a perfect gift, hope your friend adores them, and happy knitting over the long weekend.
The jay walker sock looks great – I hope my attempts turn out as nicely, I might have to bug you for tips and hints! I must say, the stitch markers are waaay cool!
